These ultrathin copper yarns are cut out of electrolytic copper rods, and turned into strands so fine they have to be measured with lasers. We then apply a series of very thin coats of lacquer to the yarn to protect the copper from corrosion, before the material enters a 6 day curing process in which it’s scoured, heat-set and dried.
