Gibson has released the limited edition signature Charlie Starr Les Paul™ Junior, a guitar that authentically reproduces the Blackberry Smoke frontman’s go-to 1956 Les Paul Junior in Dark Walnut and Ebony satin nitrocellulose finishes. It features a mahogany neck with a 50s neck profile digitally scanned and replicated from Starr’s favorite Junior, a custom-designed overwound P-90 pickup, and an adjustable Wraparound bridge with locking studs. Only 250 will be crafted in this finish.
In addition, this guitar comes packed in a Historic Les Paul Junior “Gator Skin” hardshell case and includes a Charlie Starr Signature Ceramic Slide and Hey Ya’ll sticker, complete with Charlie’s original misspelling.
Overwound P-90 Pickup: The Gibson P-90 is one of the greatest and most-recorded pickup designs of all time. This overwound version adds even more power and output to a single-coil pickup known for its girthy sound.
Adjustable Wraparound Bridge: Complete with locking studs to keep it in place when you change strings, the wraparound bridge is famous for its sustain-enhancing properties, and the adjustability of this unit ensures proper intonation.
50s Neck Profile: A more substantial and hand-filling neck shape for those who prefer a vintage feel with more substance, this profile was digitally scanned from Charlie Starr’s favorite 1956 Les Paul Junior.
