This piece comes from a small workshop located in the Central-West of Portugal, in the Estremadura province. Its design is characteristic of what is called Caldas da Rainha ceramics, with Bordallo Pinheiro being the most famous author.
The molds used in this workshop are passed down from generation to generation, and the current owner now uses his grandfather's molds. All pieces are carefully handmade, and production is very limited.
