I was tired of carrying cheap, plastic permanent markers that failed in every day use. Their soft plastic clips allow them to fall off and get lost. Their cheap retractable mechanisms are prone to extend while being carried and unintentionally bleeding and marking anything nearby (many ruined pants pockets).</p>

<p>NOTE: The Marksmith bolt action clip has about 1mm of free play when retracted. This is intentionally designed to ensure that the cartridge is fully retracted, and the cap is completely closed to prevent drying out. Please do not attempt to shim or adjust the marker to remove the free play. It does not affect the functionality of the marker.</p>

<p>The final refill method allows you to reuse the cartridges several times by refilling them with permanent marker ink.
