Acclimation Guide
Float the Bag: Place the bag with the shrimp in your tank for 20-30 minutes to equalize the temperature.
Drip Acclimation (Recommended):
Open the bag and transfer the shrimp and water into a small container.
Use airline tubing to create a slow drip from the tank into the container.
Adjust the drip rate to 2-4 drops per second.
Let this process run for 1-2 hours until the water volume in the container has doubled or tripled.
Release: Once acclimation is complete, gently net the shrimp and release them into the tank. Avoid adding the water from the container to your tank.
Monitor: Keep an eye on the shrimp for stress or unusual behavior over the next 24 hours.
Water Parameters:
pH: 6.5-7.5
Temperature: 18-24°C (64-75°F)
GH (General Hardness): 6-8 dGH
KH (Carbonate Hardness): 2-4 dKH
TDS (Total Dissolved Solids): 150-250 ppm
Tank Setup:
Size: Minimum 10 liters (~2.5 gallons) for a colony.
Substrate: Inert substrates (sand, gravel) or specialized shrimp substrates that buffer pH.
Filtration: Sponge filters are ideal to avoid shrimp fry getting stuck
