Introducing the first Can-am Defender Limited Alternator Kit! This kit was designed to meet the needs that many machines require when under heavy electrical load, no matter what it is. As many of you know, your OEM stator can not keep up with the demand of multiple electrical components (lights, stereos, winches, etc.) Dual battery kits are great, but you need to be able to fill them back up. Adding this kit will give you up to an additional 90 amps at operating speed, and roughly 35 amps at idle. No more codes related to low voltage! Winch power is dramatically increased by being able to maintain ~14.2 volts. During testing we had 3 10" Rigid Light bars, 4 Rigid ignites, HVAC on high, Stereo cranked, and two 4500 winches pulling simultaneously (pulling Ford Expedition Max on rear winch and pulling Defender Limited Max on front winch) up hill and were able to maintain ~14.0 volts at ~3000 rpm. This is a game changer when it comes to adding aftermarket accessories. Whether you want to add more lights and speakers, an AC inverter to power your farm tools, or just want max power from your winches, this is what you need to keep your system charged. The common question with this kit is how will it survive in water? No alternator is waterproof. With that said, we have yet to see a failure after testing this concern extensively, and is mounted as high as possible to avoid any extra moisture. Fits regular and max 2020-2025 Defender models WITH HVAC ONLY. Will fit models equipped with Evolution Powersports Turbo kits. The kit includes all necessary parts and detailed instructions to complete install. Installs in about 1 hour with basic tools. Install requires modifying your factory AC compressor cover. Easily convert back to stock if needed but new belt cover may be desired ($65).
