The never-ending struggle of human nature is masterfully recreated in Halfsumo’s unique style on our new Archangel Premium BJJ Belt.
When developing our new Archangel belt we tried to incorporate these concepts in both the design and the construction elements of the belt.
Unique "Caterpillar" weave gives the belt not only a vintage look, but also, due to it's rope like quality, it keeps it firmly in place once tied.
The rank bar is made of premium silk satin material, woven purposely at different angles to create a smooth, but visible Good vs Eveil pattern similar to antique scrolls art, symbolizing the everlasting struggle of life as we experience it through martial arts training.
Two unique screen prints, one of the Archangel yielding a sword , and one of the Latin phrase “Lux in Tenebris Fugit” are printed on the belt. They will fade with time, as all things in life do, but it will ultimately give the belt a unique vintage feel.
An inch was added on both ends of the belt, so that it will look powerful once tied around the waist, and not look flimsy and small like a bow-tie as other brands' belts do after a few months of use.
We made the size label of the belt a tear-away one, so if you prefer a cleaner look, you can easily remove it without damaging the belt etc.
And if all these details weren't enough, we have included not one, but two specially designed Half Sumo elastic velcro ties ( See photos below) which can be used to keep the belt neatly folded when stored in your bag, but most importantly wrapped around the knot while training, it will keep it tied around your waist even during the hardest and most intense sparring. Worm guard players beware ;)
This time around we have a beautiful magnetic cardboard box, printed with HalfSumo’s unique Irezumi, to preserve and present the belt as the ultimate martial artist’s gift. We found the premium cardboard box extremely useful to hold other valuable items around the house or office, once the belt has been put to good use.

A0 - 104" inches, will best fit athletes under 5'5", and under 130lbsA1 - 108" inches, will best fit athletes 5'5"-5'9" in height, and between 140lbs to 160lbs in weight
A2 - 115" inches, will best fit athletes 5'8"- 6'1" in height, and between 160lbs to 190lbs in weight
A3 - 120" inches, will best fit athletes 6'1"- 6'4" in height, and between 185lbs to 210lbs in weight
A4 - 125” inches, will best fit athletes 6'3"- 6'7" in height and between 200lbs to 250lbs in weight
