Sizes Small to 4XL (to fit wait 23" to 55") Hand made in UK 4" wide all the way round 10-11mm thick Gloss Black French Top Grain Leather outer Red Italian Suede inner Embossed back logo for understated look Chrome Lever Buckle LIFETIME WARRANTY Why Is This The Best Belt You'll Own? Just look at it! But no seriously; that's a big claim - here's why we back it up. Each belt is made in our workshop in Wales from French and Italian leathers. These are some of the finest leathers for belt making but in terms of quality and support but also appearance (look good lift good!). The outside of the belt is made from a gloss black top grain vegetable tanned leather that measures 3.5 to 4.0mm thick. The top grain is the strongest part of the hide as the fibres are most densely packed. The further down into the cow you go the more loosely packed the fibres are and thus less supportive. The middle 2 layers of the belt are made from 3.0-3.5mm thick vegetable tanned split leather (which is the layer below the top grain) that offers good support and is also more supple than the top grain. All three leather layers come from a French tannery. The bottom layer is a red upholstery suede from an Italian tannery. Upholstery leather comes from the bottom layer of the split as it is the softest section. The suede is incredibly soft and has the iconic leather smell. You can't beat Italian leather! With the 4 layers together the belt measures around 10-11mm thick. A typical belt 10mm belt will have 8mm of supportive vegetable tanned leather and 1mm on the top and bottom of suede that offers no support. Our Elite Lever Belt has 10-11mm of supportive vegetable tanned leather. Why Is It More Expensive Than Other Belts? Most belts made outside of the UK are made in Pakistan or China. In these factories they will use split leather for the entire middle of the belt (which as we've learnt isn't as good quality as the top grain), they also use a process called chrome tanning. Chrome tanning uses chromium salts to turn the raw hide into leather. It uses harsh chemicals to do this which takes 3-4 days as opposed to 3-6 months with vegetable tanned leather. The end product is not as good quality as a vegetable tanned leather. This is compounded by the fact that the tanneries in the middle and far east simply do not have the skills of the tanneries in Europe and the Americas. A lot of cheap belts made with chrome tanned leathers will break within a year or two; mostly starting at the holes which will split and tear. You can tell if a belt is chrome tanned by looking in the holes - you will see a grey papery type substance. Contrast this with our hand made belts which use the finest materials that are built to last. Yes the price is a lot higher but the belt will last a lifetime. That's why we guarantee it forever. Anything breaks we fix or replace it. Simple. What Is Vegetable Tanning? Vegetable leather is tanned using the traditional bark method, which takes several months to soften due to the thickness of the leather.  As it uses natural / earthy ingredients there are no harmful pollutants going into the environment. This process creates a very durable leather that lasts a lifetime. These belts are guaranteed for life. As it is made from natural products you will need to be sensible with how you store it - don't leave it at the bottom of your gym bag under your wet gym clothes and that manky old towel that's been in there for weeks. Is Leather Ethical? All leather from cows is a byproduct of the meat industry. Whilst beef is being eaten there is no reason not to use leather. No cow is reared for its skin. All the leather we use comes from Italian, French and Portuguese tanneries which source their raw hides from responsible farmers.    *** ADD A PAIR OF HEAVY WRIST STRAPS AND HAND MADE LEATHER DEADLIFTING STRAPS FOR £20 (RRP £29.98) - 33% OFF RETAIL PRICE! ***   Lever Powerlifting Belt - Sizing Information Please measure around your waist / belly button WHERE THE BELT WILL SIT.
