Boot and Leather   This is our development of a stitchdown build crafted alongside the classic Richmond pattern. For the first time on our Richmond models, the toecap build is with double leather. This means that there are two layers of upper leather used in the toecap design. One could compare this to taking an Allen pattern and then putting an additional layer of leather over the toebox to make the double leather build.    The upper leather used in this style is the Waxy Commander article from the Charles F. Stead tannery. This article has many rugged features to it including many depths of color along with plenty of texture. Waxy Commander leather is finished on the flesh-side and includes a blend of natural waxes for a uniquely rugged aesthetic. The dyes/colors of the article are blended to compliment the base dying for a rugged appearance with depth of color and texture. Waxy Commander leather is part of C.F. Stead's waterproof line of leathers.    The primary colors you may see in this upper leather include a mix of rust and medium brown. Depending on the lighting and setting in which you have the boots, it will be common to see any of these colors and slight variations of them. With wear, you can expect these boots to darken a bit. They will darken even more if wax or leather creme/balm is applied.    Grade   1 - Toecaps are slightly angled on one boot in each pair available. Our build focuses on enhanced breath-ability and shock absorption in a more natural way by using leather components.
