Nowadays, it’s used as rat poison, and has been mentioned in so many pop culture ways as a weapon of choice for a slick murderer: three Agatha Christie stories; the second-ever Sherlock Holmes book; a Stephen King book; an HG Wells book; a Wes Anderson film; a Hitchcock film; and multiple popular TV shows, including the death of the horrible teenage boy king on that one about thrones, just to name a few.
