This Spalding Phonograms app is designed for helping students learn the phonics connection between speech sounds and written symbols that represent those sounds (phonograms). Learning the phonograms is essential for accurate and automatic reading, writing, and spelling. Teaching all the sounds of the phonemes represented by an alphabet letter or combination of two, three, or four letters (phonograms) enables students to read, spell, and write high-frequency words quickly. Students who learn the phonograms well expand their vocabulary and are able to use effective and creative communication skills in writing. Critical thinking is involved in learning the appropriate phonogram placement within words for accurate spelling and for applying information learned during phonogram reviews to pronounce unfamiliar words. How to unzip a file from desktop/laptop Windows: Locate the zipped folder that you want to unzip (extract) files or folders from. Do one of the following: To unzip a single file or folder, open the zipped folder, then drag the file or folder from the zipped folder to a new location. To unzip all the contents of the zipped folder, press and hold (or right-click) the folder, select Extract All, and then follow the instructions. Apple: Double click the zipped file. The file will automatically be decompressed by Archive Utility into the same folder the compressed file is in. Access the extracted files by clicking the appropriate icons. How to unzip a file from Android/iOS Android After the Spalding Phonograms Web App is purchased, a download link will appear (it can also be accessed via the downloads email that will be sent). Once the file is downloaded, it will need to be extracted. 1. From the Downloads Folder on your Android device, click on the Spalding Phonograms Web App file and select Extract. 2. After the files are done extracting, select Done. 3. Refresh the Downloads Folder (if needed) by swiping down on the screen and releasing. 4. Select the file Spalding App Access and Informational Document. 5. After reviewing the document, select Click on this link to access the Spalding Phonograms App. Enter the App username and App password from the document.6. You can then begin using the app for Phonogram Introduction, Oral Phonogram Review, or Written Phonogram Review.
