Rooted: A Study of Identity, Part Three dives into chapters of Genesis, 1 Corinthians, Romans, and Ephesians to discover how our community shapes our identity. Community can be tricky. Unity can be difficult, but we will act as your guide through the Bible’s most pertinent texts on these subjects. We’ll uncover humankind’s purpose on this Earth, and how we were designed to glorify God together.
In Known: Part One and in Restored: Part Two, we focused on your identity as it relates to your inner life – your heart and your relationship with God. In Rooted: Part Three, we begin to explore how your identity not only affects you, but how it connects with your broader community and relationships with others. Your faith and your relationships inform one another and work together to create a fulfilling life and robust identity.
We need each other on this journey, and ultimately, we need each other to express our identity. But this can be a challenge. Many of us were raised to be hyper-independent and not to rely on anybody else for our needs. Asking for help doesn’t come naturally. And let’s be honest, group projects in school were often a nightmare. It doesn’t have to be that way. The Bible gives us a way to interact with one another so that our relationships bring life and value to our faith and purpose.
