PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
When VW transitioned to the Gen 3 version of the TSI engines, they were not quite ready for a handful of PQ/Mk6 chassis Volkswagens to transition to MQB chassis (nor did they have plans to for most). The engine in the PQ/Mk6 chassis vehicles transitioned to the Gen 3 EA888, but VW failed to install IHI style turbos in these variants, found in MQB Gen 3 EA888 cars (Mk7, 8V, etc). Instead, they transitioned to a different turbo from the Gen 1, but kept the same position of the turbo; the turbo exhaust is on the driver side and the intake is on the passenger side.
The majority of the models with the PQ/Mk6 chassis have an automatic (non-DSG) transmission or the 5-speed transmission. Both of these were not built with performance in mind, which means they will not hold up to the power requirements of turbo upgrades. Turbo manufacturers rightfully didn't see value in designing a performance turbo for these models. This is where our VW enthusiasts came into action. The community over at PROJECTGEN3GLI on Facebook identified a list of items required to fit any OEM MQB style turbo. The majority of the parts identified in the list below were graciously provided by PROJECTGEN3GLI, with some ICWP modifications for a more OEM method for installing.
Fitment: See photos of engine bay below to identify whether you have a Gen 1 or Gen 3 engine. This kit will not fit Gen 1 vehicles.

Disclaimers:
Though this swap is similar to a turbo install in terms of labor, professional installation is strongly recommended. Note for the installer: the non-MQB Gen 3 EA888 chassis turbo oil return line is in a different location on the engine block, therefore you will need to take the core plug from the location for the MQB turbo oil drain line and plug the old Non-MQB location.
