Made of solid brass you get a the added weight that adds control and assists with easier cutting. In comparison to the L'indispensable version we've added a larger hex set screw that improves the tightening and loosening of the blade. And the design contours for comfortable left and right handed use Now the steel blade is a big step up. The knife comes with a double bevel high carbon steel that has a nice balance of solid edge retention and is easy to sharpen. For those wanting an upgraded blade we offer one from Chartermade made of D2 and has incredible edge retention.  If you have every been frustrated with your exacto knife bending and not cutting exactly how you wanted you have found a knife that solves this. The rigid blade has no flex and cuts right where you put it.  For sharpening all you need is a leather strop and some of our micro sharpening rouge and a few strops back and forth keep it cutting at its best. . The standard blade comes sharp and ready to use right out of the gate. If you want to purchase an upgraded Chartermade blade they fit both this handle and the L'indispensable. But please note this blade will only fit in the Rocky Mountain Handle.   Please note:  The blade may come with the tip shaved down. This is done to prevent it from breaking on its own.
