S&S Diesel Motorsport, the creator of the original Disaster Prevention Kit for the 6.7 Powerstroke, is at it again with a much-improved second generation kit. Since the original release in 2016, the kit has been widely imitated, but nothing beats the original, until now.
The new and improved S&S Diesel Motorsport Gen2.1 6.7L Power Stroke CP4 Disaster Prevention Kit features all quick connect lines that will eliminate the need for cutting the factory supply line, which is a debris introduction point, especially if the cut is not thoroughly deburred. This eliminates the need for a compression fitting, allowing the quick connect lines to be used to eliminate any threaded joints that could create further leak points reducing the amount of debris on install.
There are two major improvements in how the Gen2.1 kit accomplishes this. First, the Gen2.1 fuel supply is split off into two separate lines 25 inches from the CP4, which will eliminate the chance of contaminated case fuel back-feeding into the clean fuel supply line. Second, the amount of debris to make it past the kit has been greatly reduced.
Previously, unfortunate victims of a CP4 failure, with the good fortune of having an original Disaster Prevention Kit installed, would still need to drop the tank and deal with all of the debris created by the failed CP4.
The new Gen2.1 Disaster Prevention Kit will fit 2011 and up Ford Super Duty pickup trucks with the 6.7 Power Stroke Diesel engine, taking the guesswork out of figuring out if it will fit your truck or not.
When considering future filter changes, consider the Donaldson P550943 replacement filters, they're readily available and cheaper than the previous gen filters. Fittings are the same as the Gen 2 kit so retrofitting shouldn't be an issue.
