PLEASE READ: Yes, the carabiner charm can be opened! However, I always tighten the carabiners before I send them out (so that they don't open on their own and fall off the necklace), so a pair of CHAIN NOSE PLIERS WILL BE NEEDED to twist the middle section of the carabiner open as well as to close it back up securely. Instructions on this are included with the necklace packaging. Please keep in mind that the carabiner is a piece of jewelry first and foremost and is tiny, it does not have the same functionality and durability as a real carabiner. The necklace does come with a clasp on the back. These necklaces are super cute with any outfit, and great for personalized gifts! You can choose between high quality solid sterling silver or 14K gold filled & gold vermeil material (Please note: the material for the chain portion and the stamped charms of the gold version of the necklace is 14K gold filled, but the carabiner portion is made from gold vermeil, meaning gold plating over sterling silver). The dimensions of the carabiner are 12mmx19mm. I can make the necklaces 14", 16", 18". You can also choose to add a personalized hand-stamped initial charm(s) onto your necklace. The initial charms are also made from sterling silver or are gold filled, and can be stamped with any letter or number (I do not have any symbols at the moment).
