Parkwood guitars was started by a former Taylor employee. His principle was to make affordable guitars with premium woods and quality hardware

This example is ser.# 05092711. This puts the date of build at Sept. 2005. Technically, this would put this guitar in that over-used “vintage” category !.
I bought this example while trying out acoustics and was really impressed. First the sound, but couldn't NOT notice the materials and craftsmanship. There is some incredible grain in the premium flamed maple sides and back and the spruce top grain is clear and straight. . The finish is also impressive , being very thin nitrocellulose lacquer that has a nice satin look and can be easily maintained and won’t “choke” the tone. Because the top is soft spruce and the finish so thin, it was inevitable that there are a few very small indentations.

This guitar had a mic and pickup system installed , which is now removed and both the nut and saddle have been replaced with GraphTech ’Tusq’. String height at first fret -bass E string is .020 and first fret first string is .016. The action at the 20th fret is a little high for my taste, and there is room to lower the saddle if this is too high for your preference. I didn’t want to bring the saddle down too far to suit myself, that is for the new owner to check out and lower the saddle. Can’t add material taken away !
Since there was a piezo pickup under the old saddle, the hole for a piezo wire is there and ready- see pics.
A new pickup system will be easy to install, if wanted, since even the endpin jack hole is already done

The frets are narrow and had A little wear, but I polished them up with micro mesh abrasives down to 3200 grit. Nothing else was done, and they'll be fine for the near future.
The ebony pins with abalone inserts are new as well. The pin holes were reamed slightly to accommodate the larger pins, so they are clean and hold nicely.

After removing the strings, I oiled the fretboard and bridge with lemon oil until saturated. [This practice should be part of your regular maintenance ]. While doing this , I had to admire the beautiful rosewood used for the fretboard ! I don’t think it translates in the pics, but the grain is wonderful ! No shortcuts were taken when wood was picked for this guitar.

Tuners a Grover with ebony knobs. Strings on the guitar now are new Stringjoy "Naturals" 10/50

Guitar has been stored in its Roadrunner hardcase with a humidifier ( not included ) - as if we needed humidity in the Seattle area ! I had a humidity gauge in my acoustic guitar cases and its not needed our average humidity is 50% Any other location and you of course will want to keep the guitar in its case with a humidifier and gauge.
The Roadrunner case is an 'RRMAJBO' in excellent shape and still has plastic over the logo and the price tag. Thanks for stopping by ! - Arne
