Merino wool with the very finest fibres (under approximately 19.5 microns) is called "extra fine Merino" and has a pleasing texture and a beautifully fine appearance. These delicate knits are perfect for the office or more formal events, as well as providing a lightweight layer for the really cold months.<br><br>Extra fine Merino wool, with its incredibly thin fibres, has a shiny surface and produces vivid colours. To create consistently beautiful colours we dye the wool when it's raw, instead of after it has been spun into yarn.<br><br>Wool can require extra care, but we've worked out several ways to overcome that. With a special non-shrink treatment, this jumper is machine washable but retains the elegant feel of wool.
