Fast Growing, Thick Hedge The new Hedge Bamboo (aka multiplex bamboo) is the perfect hedge plant. It's an extremely fast grower that gives you a quick, dense, uniform hedge. You see more and more high-end neighborhoods using bamboo hedges these days. Its tropical feel will give your landscape that classy look. This low-maintenance bamboo is a clumper, not a runner. This means it doesn't run wild all along your yard as other varieties do. It is well behaved and doesn't spread. This bamboo variety is a thick plant. New branches start at the base and grow up, creating a dense hedge. It is also one of the few bamboo varieties that branch out at the nodes.
