Bravery isn’t a feeling, it’s a decision. It’s knowing what scares you, what the risks are, what’s at stake, what’s going to be difficult, and going anyway. Doing it anyway. Deciding anyway. Bravery is fear and worry deferred. It’s deciding that what you stand to gain could *possibly* (but not probably) be greater than what you stand to lose. You may never ever feel brave, and that’s okay. Bravery comes after you decide to move forward. Bravery is the attribute you receive after you’ve made the decision and gone ahead with the thing. Bravery comes in retrospect. You decided on bravery. You were brave. And, therefore, you are brave. You are braver than you feel.
