-I do recommend my Professional grower soil mix for rooting ocotillo cuttings
-I do recommend my water-soluble fertilizer (half strength) mixed with Superthrive for misting the canes and general watering
-Your 2"-4" container size should be shallow with drain holes
-Insert branches 1"-2" below the soil surface and firm the soil around the cutting
-Give your ocotillo plant a good soak and allow the soil to dry out before you water again. Ideally, you want to keep the soil moist but not saturated.
-Once established, keep the soil dry if not growing (dormant)
-Ocotillos perform root best in warm sunny areas in soils that drain rapidly
