ANTICIPATED ARRIVAL: MID APRIL SPECS PATTERN: The Mister Freedom® RANCH BLOUSE pattern is our original take on classic denim jacket styles from the Golden Age of American workwear, 1930s to 1950s. FABRIC: “traditional” premium selvedge denim, dark indigo warp yarn, 13.75 Oz, milled in Japan SPECS: Round-type collar, A-1 style. Period natural waist “boxy” cut and classic vintage silhouette. Pleated front with original MF® arrowhead dart stitching. Original and unique lower slanted chest pockets, single pocket flap. MF® “M” branding pocket stitch. Denim selvedge ID exposed on front panel fold. Contrast NOS denim twill facing for collar and pocket flap. Original MF®-branded ‘silver’ tack buttons. Buckle back, concealed selvedge cinch strap, adjustable, riveted. Copper rivet reinforced, unmarked hardware with leather washer backing. Vintage-style orange/yellow combo stitching, 100% cotton thread. Traditional “caballo” construction. Printed "Joe G" cloth label with original artwork. Proudly made in USA in a small family-owned factory. SIZING/FIT The Mister Freedom® Ranch Blouse comes raw/unwashed, and will shrink to tagged size. Follow the usual recommended initial method before wearing: cold soak for 30mn, spin dry and line dry. Please refer to sizing chart to determine which size works for you. CARE Hand wash or machine wash on delicate, cold water, minimal eco-friendly detergent. Turn inside-out to avoid marbling of the fabric. Line dry only. This fabric will develop an attractive patina over time, according to the owner’s activities, frequency of wear and laundering choices. STORY The MF® Ranch Blouse has a definite 1930’s ~ 1940’s flare, featuring the traditional bells and whistles of “Type I” jackets, ie. pleated front and buckle-back. On a side note, front pleats of vintage early workwear cotton twill jackets (canvas or denim) were not intended as a fashion statement, but rather served as expansion pleats, the stitching merely keeping the pleats in place, easily removable/pulled by the wearer should extra chest room be needed. In later years, front pleats of “fashion” denim jackets became ornamental, at times riveted, fully stitched down or even covered by patch pockets, rendering them purely decorative. We opted for fully-functional pleats in our original 2011 design, secured by the MF® trademark arrowhead-shaped dart contrast stitch, adopted since by a few other makers.
