This chisel has a high carbon vanadium-alloyed steel and comes very sharp and ready to use. It is mill finished and hardened to 61 Rockwell Scale. The thick Japanese Red Oak handle is comfortable to hold and features a strong steel hoop which is already seated well into the Oak.
