There is some variation though due to the manufacturing and cutting process that can result in pieces being narrower in some cases. We will not send out boards less than 11.75x18.75 inches.</p> <p class="p1"><b>Thickness</b>:</p> <p class="p1">1/8th inch / 3mm although there is variation between 2.6mm - 3.4mm due to manufacturing process leading to some variation.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>We recommend a focus height of 3mm.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>But calipers can be used for exact thickness.</p> <p class="p1"><b>Masking:</b></p> <p class="p1">Both sides are masked to prevent scratches damage during shipping.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>It is laser safe.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>However, the masking sometimes does not adhere well to the acrylic.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Paper masking that that is not adhered can be a fire hazard.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>The masking is not necessary on the top face to prevent scorching, so we actually recommend cutting without the top masking but leaving the bottom masking in place.<span class="Apple-converted-space">   </span></p> <p class="p1"><b>Cut Edges:</b></p> <p class="p1">We purchase the material in 4x8 foot sheets then cut down to size with a saw.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Although we take precautions to avoid chipped edges and corners, this does sometimes occur.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Because the acrylic is intended for laser use, we assume that the very edge is not used.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>These chips will not encroach more than 2mm and so should not affect the usable area.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>But if you are using the material for a project that requires perfectly smooth edges, please purchase the material and email us at <a href="mailto:info@craftcloset.com"><span class="s1">info@craftcloset.com</span></a> and let us know of your needs so we can select the pieces.<span class="Apple-converted-space">   </span></p> <p class="p1"><b>Cast Acrylic:</b></p> <p class="p1">Excellent optical properties, light weight and stronger than glass, this premium cast acrylic is a superior product to use for trophies, signs, handicraft, laser cutting and an endless variety of other applications.</p> <p class="p1"><b>Laser Safe:</b></p> <p class="p1">This acrylic can be used with the Glowforge c02 lasers, Mira, XTool P2, OmTech, Thunder, Trotec, Epilog, Aeon and other c02 lasers, routers, Dremels and scroll saws.
