This 15thC medieval rondel dagger is a classic Knights and professional soldiers side weapon used in the 100 years war between France and England by both sides. It has a stout, long and strong single edged blade that was  typical of rondel daggers like this and features some decorative file work to the spine. The rondel discs are hollow  and brazed to reduce weight and ash wood grip is fluted. The top rondel is fitted with a decorated brass peen button. The double layer vegtan leather sheath is suspended from a cord. The scabbard  is decorated front and rear with simple incised decoration and finished with a decorated brass chape. Blade length 33cm/13"” Overall length 45cm/17.75” Grip length 10.5cm/4.25"” Edge sharpness Semi-Sharp is 'butter knife sharp'; it has a very fine flat on the edge Sharp has been ground to give a reasonable cutting edge, but final honing, if required, is by the customer.
