Boadicea the Victorious launched Dragon to celebrate 2024 being a Chinese calendar dragon year. The bottle shield is decorated with a dramatic winged beast, adorned with horns and a whiplash tail, framed in a circle of interlocking Celtic-style hearts. The dragon is the only imaginary creature in the Chinese zodiac, fifth in the twelve-year cycle of animals and represents power, nobility, honour, luck, and success. The temple fumes of incense in Dragon mix with creamy magnolia and saffron, a keynote in Dragon and one of the world’s most expensive spices, due to the labour-intensive method of farming crocus’, whose delicate pistils are painstakingly hand-harvested by women at dawn. The colour of fire, sun and Buddhist robes, saffron imparts a unique flavour of nutty basmati rice, earth, metallic honey, and the inside of old wooden spice cupboards.
