About the artist Egon Schiele was an Austrian painter and one of the most prominent figures of Austrian Expressionism. Born on June 12, 1890, in Tulln, Austria, Schiele had a short but impactful career as an artist. His distinctive style, characterized by its raw and intense depiction of the human form, made him a pioneer of modern art. Schiele's artwork often explored themes of sexuality, death, and the human condition.
