Gem Tangs come from Mauritius off the East Coast of Africa. They are black with striking white spots along the whole body, and they have a yellow caudal fin. Tangs are especially susceptible to disease. Feeding Vitamin C everyday on pellet foods will help with disease prevention. A UV sterilizer and protein skimmer are STRONGLY recommended to keep this fish. They should be fed algae based foods and should cautiously be mixed with conspecifics.
