Art Deco 1.18 Carat Old European Cut Diamond & Platinum Engagement Ring

This ring is exactly what one wants when shopping for an Art Deco solitaire. Anchored by a central (approximately) 1.18 carat antique European Cut diamond, the warm-toned chunky stone is held in place by four triple-split tapered prongs. This stone exhibits one of our favorite optical characteristics: the culet is internally reflected multiple times! This is a characteristic that you almost never see in modern stones and is visual evidence that this stone is antique and was cut by hand. A harmonious mix of engraving, filigree, delicate swirls, and single cut accent diamonds, this antique mounting is in excellent condition and eager for its new home! Pro tip: diamonds are color graded upside down and from the side, and antique cuts have a unique feature about them in that they sometimes "face up" whiter than their grade, meaning that when viewed from the top down, they appear to have less color than expected. This stone, while most likely falling in the L-M range does face up a bit whiter than its grade.
