Grödo of Germany These Organic Merino Wool Socks are made from GOTS-certified organic merino wool. They are hypoallergenic and designed for sensitive skin. There is no elastic intertwined within the yarn, making them suitable for those with latex-sensitivity. Wool absorbs moisture and feels warm, even when damp. Natural fibers breathe, maintaining a comfortable temperature in warmth or cold. Wool's intrinsic properties inhibit foot odor. Sizing If you are uncertain of your European size, please refer to sizing conversion chart. These tend to run large, so you may consider one size down (for example for shoe size 39, 37-38 might fit better). They can tolerate machine wash on a delicate cycle, but will shrink in the dryer! More about Grödo ... To maintain the health and longevity of your garments, organic wool is best washed by hand. Many modern woolen items are treated with chemicals to allow them to tolerate machine-washing. Certified organic wool does not contain such chemicals. Some washing machines have a special wool-cycle, which maintains a lukewarm water temperature throughout the wash and rinse cycle, as well as minimizing agitation of the garment, which can lead to felting / shrinking. However, wool does not need to be washed each time it is worn - simply air out overnight and they are fresh in the morning. Can be worn for extended periods without need for washing. See Caring for Wool. We recommend hand-washing with Kookaburra Wool Wash. or LANACare Lanolin Soap with even more lanolin, 7.5%. The higher lanolin content is recommended for nursing pads & diaper covers, or to add even more softness to your woolens and to prolong the self-cleansing properties of the wool.
