This is a Lacatoni Angola national team home jersey as worn by the ‘Palancas Negras (Black Sable antelopes)’ throughout the 2024-25 period. The Angola national team have had periods of great success throughout their history, having achieved several major highlights since first official international match following independence in 1976. Angola’s most notable achievement came in 2006 when they qualified for their first and only FIFA World Cup after only losing one game in the qualifiers ahead of favorites Nigeria. In the tournament, they drew against Mexico and Iran but were eliminated in the group stage after a narrow loss to Portugal. In the Africa Cup of Nations, Angola has participated ten times since their debut in 1996. Their best performances have been reaching the quarter-finals in 2008, 2010 (as hosts), and 2023. Regionally, they’ve won the COSAFA Cup four times, most recently in 2024. With a strong squad filled with both youth talent and some experienced stars, hopes are high that Angola can make a return to the FIFA World Cup in the near future.
