The Wakelands represent the last bastions of humanity, decimated by the plague of the Domes, where survivors gather in fortified Chapters. The Game Master is called the Shadow, while the players take on the role of Nightblood Pilgrims. The Pilgrims are explorers and seekers of Oneiric Matters, and act as intermediaries between the Nightmare Lands and the Wakelands.
