Organic simplistic design, these baskets are handwoven from the Totora Reed, which grows in the coastal wetlands to the high plateaus of Lake Titicaca. In Lake Titicaca the Uros people live on floating islands made of Totora. Made by a cooperative of artisans in Northern Peru, the stalks are first harvested, dried, and later woven into baskets. This basket is made by hand, variations and slight imperfections may occur. This naturally enhances its character and personality and makes it one of a kind.
