Sourced from a selection of ancient, dry-grown vineyards, many over 100 years old, the wine reflects Torbreck’s dedication to preserving old vine material and expressing the depth and character of the Barossa. The inclusion of a small proportion of Viognier, co-fermented with Shiraz, enhances aromatic lift and texture, bringing complexity and balance to this powerful expression.</p> <p>The 2022 vintage offered favourable conditions, allowing for even ripening and excellent flavour concentration while retaining freshness. Fruit is hand-harvested and fermented with careful extraction to maintain purity and structure. The wine is matured in French oak barrels, contributing subtle spice and refinement without overshadowing the fruit.
