Shiva shells, one of the more hard to find shells, are unique with their one-of-a-kind patterns. Their subtle swirls tell a story of their journey by the sea. Material: Shiva (operculum) shell, sterling silver-plated brass wires Length: ~ 1" Shiva shells are the natural operculum (or “trapdoor”) of certain sea snails, forming in layers as the snail matures—much like tree rings. Each new layer overlaps the previous one, creating visible growth lines that may look like cracks but simply mark where one growth phase ended and the next began. Found on beaches throughout the Pacific, these shells are collected without harming any live snails.
