There are cotton seeds and sometimes small pieces of the cotton plant mixed in. Raw cotton is often used for stuffing or cushioning when a less expensive material is required, and it's acceptable to have some other plant matter besides the fiber. We recommend the use of a dust mask when handling cotton fiber, as loose dust and fibers may cause irritation.
