"This ring is about a strange dream in my childhood jungle playground, and perhaps about growing older and experiencing the world. It all began in playful adolescence in the place where waiwai flows from the summit to the sea, the place where my imagination first felt adventure. We all had a place like that. Places that show us magic in a humble juvenile way, the most influential time of our development. It’s important that we remember these places and travel back to them often, even if it’s in our thoughts. Let not the modern adult life drown out that magic. This piece is to remind you that wherever you go, so does your inner child. The child who gazes at the stars, runs into the mountains, and visits the ocean just because it’s beautiful. For me, this ring reminds me of ahupua'a, ke alaula, ke ala hōkū, it's about nāna nā moe and ho'oponopono. However, what's more important is the realm this design sparks in your imagination.
