After losing a family member to skin cancer, they launched a non-profit called The Skin Protection Foundation (SPF) whose purpose is to fight skin cancer on the front lines by giving sunscreen away. As they searched for a sunscreen partner, that's when they realized why skin cancer is more diagnosed than all other cancers combined: sunscreen sucks. They determined that the best way to fight skin cancer was to create a sunscreen people would actually want to wear. Bask was born from that goal.
