Nutrition and Wellness - HPE323

In this course, students will increase their knowledge of comprehensive health and wellness through nutrition. Students will begin by examining human body systems and basic medical terminology. They will explore environmental, physical, and pharmaceutical interventions, wellness, and disease concepts. Students will discover the role of nutrients in the body and how to prepare food safely. After completing this course, students will be able to communicate the relationship between physical fitness, physical performance, injury prevention, and nutritional intake. Patient care concepts, including confidentiality and communication skills, are also emphasized.
