Less on the fruity side (like the estate wine), more a herbaceous and elegant style of Pinot.UZ's Tasting Notes:Despite Daniel's brief synopsis of the wine, this is our go-to in his lineup. The refreshing and acid driven red fruits are evident, but there are layers to this wine, with this beautiful clovey, sandalwood complexity along the primary elements of the wine. The tannin is fine and firm, sure to fade wonderfully with time. It's a wine build to last, but it's tremendous drinking now. Just fantastic. In our minds, a new classic. About Daniel Fries:Daniel is the 8th Generation of the Fries family who farm 8ha of vineyard in the village of Winningen, exclusively hand harvesting and without the use of herbicides. They farm a Riesling in 2 of the Grand Cru appellations of Uhlen and Rottgen, alongside one of the first estates in the Mosel to plant Pinot Noir in 1986.
