Antique English Georgian Country House Kitchen Hand Forged Copper 6 Imperial Pint Tea Kettle, Pot This is a late Georgian English antique country kitchen copper kettle. It has a very attractive oval body which is made from sheet copper. Brass is used at various points, (as it is less conductive of heat than copper), where the hot kettle would be touched when serving tea; supports to the handle, the lid rim and the lid finial. The spout has a pointed "beak" end. The back and the base of the pot have the attractive and distinctive seamed construction of the period. The top of the front support and base of the kettle are stamped 6 to denote its 6pt capacity. In good antique condition with wear of the odd knock/dimple with marks and patina to commensurate the age and use of such a piece. The tinned interior is present with normal ageing - see photographs and video. **Please note that we would not recommend using an antique kettle without it being re-tinned and checked before use - They are sold as antique kettles rather than specifically for use which we do not guarantee** This handsome kettle weighs 3lbs 2oz - (1470g) and measures approximately: Height - 10.25" - (260mm).
