Reference One Snare Drum - 6.5 x 14-inch - Matte Black

A New Chapter for the Original Hybrid Snare Pearl’s Reference One series set the standard for modern hybrid drum sets and snare drums, and the company has once again raised the bar with the Reference One Snare Drum. It all starts with a 5.4mm EvenPly 6-ply shell comprised of North American maple and birch that work together for maximum cut, volume, and tonal balance. Mastercast die-cast hoops further augment these drums’ natural attack and cut, in addition to offering tuning stability. Single swivel STL100 lugs offer Pearl’s least-ever amount of direct shell contact for optimizing natural resonance and sustain. The SR1000 glide lock snare strainer features a locking throw off lever and speedy push button release coupled with Ultra-Sound “I” and “D” type snares for incredible sizzle and dynamic response. Finally, each Pearl Reference One snare drum is ready for immediate action thanks to shipping with a Remo USA Coated Ambassador and Clear Ambassador for the batter and resonant heads, respectively. Greater than the sum of its parts The 5.4mm EvenPly 6-ply shell on the Pearl Reference One snare is made from four outer plies of North American maple plus two inner plies of birch. Together, they bring out the best in each other. The North American maple provides cut and projection, while the birch provides an increased resonance and a smoother tonal balance. Many Sweetwater drummers think the two tonewoods pair together perfectly. Ready for action Each Pearl Reference One snare drum ships with a Remo USA Coated Ambassador head for its batter side and a Remo USA Clear Ambassador for its resonant side head. Simply open the box, put it on a snare stand, and rock out.
