Field-ready Marching Snare with Cutting-edge Design The Championship Maple FFXM Marching Snare represents the very best in quality marching percussion. Featuring a 6-ply 100% maple shell, the FFXM snare boasts a natural balance of mid-to-high frequencies at all dynamic levels. And with the 4-ply reinforcement rings and 45-degree bearing edge, this reliable maple drum will hold its shape in any climate while providing a clear, focused sound. Our legion of Sweetwater drummers also loves Pearl’s patented OneTouch Snare Strainer system, which removes unnecessary weight and hassle from operating the strainer. The rest of this drum is also incredibly lightweight, offering increased mobility for your snare players to perform snappy turns and visuals without straining themselves. When equipped with Championship Maple FFXM drums, your snare players will perform with confidence no matter where they’re at. Maple shell with free-floating design The Maple FFXM snare drum’s 6-ply shell is made from 100% maple. Its natural wood shell offers powerful projection with balanced mid-to-high frequencies. This inherent balance gives the snare’s tone warmth and substance while still letting it cut through the top-end of your ensemble. The FFXM’s inner core is bolstered by 4-ply reinforcement rings and a 45-degree bottom bearing edge, giving this drum unrivaled stability and durability. The entire shell is also free of any mounting hardware. Instead, it’s held together using aluminum-alloy hardware in a free-floating design. This ambitious design reduces the drum’s weight and gives the shell complete freedom to vibrate and produce rich tones that compliment the entire drumline. Lightweight design with OneTouch snare strainer Modern snare players need to be more agile than ever to perform snappy turns and visual maneuvers. Clocking in at only 14.5 pounds, this 14-inch x 12-inch marching snare is one of the lightest on the market and easily facilitates the needs of the mobile drummer. Its lightweight design also extends to its OneTouch snare strainer. Pearl took extraordinary measures to simplify the strainer system, reducing any unnecessary weight and mechanics in the process. The result is an easy-to-operate strainer that lets you turn the snare on and off in a flash while providing dependable tuning.
