Aune AR5000 MK2 Headphones

The Aune AR5000MK2 builds on the foundation of the original AR5000 with a more refined acoustic structure, improved driver behavior, and a stronger physical design. It is a full-size open-back dynamic headphone made for listeners who want a natural, spacious presentation without giving up body, bass weight, or everyday drivability. With its 50mm MLD dynamic driver, large-tilt-angle acoustic structure, low 28-ohm impedance, and upgraded all-metal headband assembly, the AR5000MK2 is designed to be both serious and practical. It can scale with desktop DAC/amp systems, but it is also efficient enough to pair with quality portable sources. Refined MLD Dynamic Driver The AR5000MK2 uses a 50mm open-back dynamic driver with Aune’s Multi-Layer Distributed diaphragm structure. The MLD diaphragm is designed to balance rigidity and damping, helping reduce breakup that can occur in larger dynamic drivers. For the MK2 version, Aune further optimized the diaphragm material and surface treatment. The result is clearer treble extension, a more open sense of air, and improved smoothness through the upper frequencies. Full-Range Balance with Greater Extension Aune tuned the AR5000MK2 for a natural, complete tonal balance. Compared with the previous generation, the MK2 extends both the sub-bass and ultra-high frequencies while refining the transition from the mids into the highs. The low end is designed to have more authority and body without losing speed or articulation. Vocals and instruments remain coherent across the spectrum, giving the AR5000MK2 a sound that is spacious, balanced, and easy to settle into for long listening sessions. Large-Tilt-Angle Acoustic Structure The AR5000MK2 uses Aune’s large-tilt-angle driver panel together with angled earpads to create a more expansive acoustic presentation. This structure is intended to improve the sense of depth, width, and vertical space while supporting more precise imaging. The open grille housing and side venting help manage airflow and acoustic diffusion behind the driver. For listeners choosing an open-back headphone for music, gaming, movies, or critical listening, the AR5000MK2 is built around a more natural sense of space rather than a closed-in presentation. Comfortable Full-Size Fit At approximately 365g, the AR5000MK2 remains light enough for extended listening while still using a more robust headband assembly. The headband shape and curvature have been optimized to improve fit across different head shapes, while the full-size earpads are designed to cover the ear without excessive pressure. The breathable acoustic memory foam earpads help maintain comfort over longer sessions, making the AR5000MK2 a practical choice for desktop listening, focused work, late-night sessions, and long-form listening. All-Metal Headband Assembly The MK2 version upgrades the headband assembly to an all-metal construction for improved rigidity and long-term durability. The design keeps the elegant visual language of the original AR5000, with a refined champagne-gold finish and clean industrial lines. The result is a headphone that feels more substantial without moving away from the comfort-first approach that helped define the original model. Easy to Drive, Ready to Scale With a nominal impedance of 28 ohms and sensitivity rated at 112dB SPL at 1kHz/1Vrms, the AR5000MK2 is easier to drive than many full-size open-back headphones. It can work well with capable portable audio devices, while still benefiting from higher quality desktop DAC and amplifier pairings. The included interchangeable plug cable supports 3.5mm single-ended, 6.35mm single-ended, and 4.4mm balanced connections, making it easier to move between portable players, headphone amps, interfaces, and desktop systems without needing a separate cable immediately.
