Small Mochaware Canister in Yellow Dendritic

This exceptional line of 18th century inspired mochaware is hand-painted and crafted from beautifully refined white earthenware. Made in the United States and available in a range of styles and abstract patterns. Originally beginning in the 1770s as everyday pottery for English taverns, Mochaware is known for its hallmark tree-like “mocha” designs.  To achieve this look, ceramicists use a traditional, exactingly precise technique of slip decoration: dripping a specialized acidic solution onto wet clay to trigger a natural, fractal-like reaction that blooms across the surface. This alchemical process ensures that no two pieces are exactly alike.  Measures: 8"H x 5.5" DSold individually Care: Dishwasher safe. Not suitable for oven or microwave use. Do not allow to sit in water or soak for extended periods of time.
