The new Apple Carplay and Android Auto interface appear as a menu inside of your factory Tacoma screen.  This system maintains your entire underlying factory menu and all factory functionality. It plays music through your stock head unit and keeps your exact audio quality.  Our 2014-2019 Toyota Tacoma Apple CarPlay upgrade module uses your factory microphone. This means you will not have to use an aftermarket microphone or aftermarket mic built into a new screen, as many folks do not like the sound quality on aftermarket car head unit mics.  You may have seen some other cheaper alternatives that install into the factory wiring harness on the Tacoma. This kit is unique as it installs into the back of the head unit. For Tacoma/4Runner/Highlander/Sequoia, the interfaces that install simply via the wiring harness have known graphics issues, as it is not possible to fully maximize graphics via the LVDS wiring harness on these models of Toyotas. For this reason, we worked with our factory to create a unit that uses a ribbon cable to physically connect to your factory radios.
