The Viking Steak Knife

Any knife can cut steak. This one turns the meal into something worth remembering. The Viking Steak Knife was designed for the person who already has ordinary cutlery. It is a statement piece for steak night, the BBQ table and the kind of gift that gets picked up, admired and talked about before it is ever used. At its core is a 440C stainless-steel blade, precision-cut to the distinctive Modern Viking profile and finished with our rugged textured surface. The cutting edge is then hand wet-stone ground and sharpened by artisans, using water during the finishing process to help manage heat while the edge is refined. Along the blade sits the Elder Futhark-inspired inscription ᛊᛏᛖᚲ ᛊᛚᚨᛁᛖᚱ — “Steak Slayer” — giving the knife an identity that ordinary table knives simply do not have. The curved wooden handle is shaped to feel substantial in the hand and can be personally engraved with a name, initials, date or message. That is what turns it from a striking knife into a gift made specifically for one person. Each knife is supplied with a custom-fitted brown cowhide leather sheath, stitched around the blade profile and finished with Modern Viking branding. It protects the knife between uses and gives the whole piece the presentation it deserves. Craftsman’s Remarks We did not create this knife because the world needed another way to cut steak. We created it because the things we use around the table can carry character, ritual and meaning. The broad blade, textured steel, runic detailing, curved handle and fitted leather sheath were developed to make the knife feel special before the first cut is made. Add personal engraving and it becomes something far more memorable than another bottle, mug or generic gift — it becomes theirs. This is the knife you bring out when the steaks are on, when mates are around the table, or when you want to give someone something they will actually keep and use. Made for the feast. Personalised for the person.
