We think not. Part of the Standard Candy Company's line of sweet treats originally rolled out in the 1930's, King Leo was marketed as a quick energy food for kids and adults. With its 100% syrupy sugar constitution, these candy sticks no doubt pepped up even the most lethargic of eaters in a matter of minutes, making them seem like magic but really were just an honest-to-goodness sugar high in handsome packaging. First founded in 1901 by a nineteen year old entrepreneur, Standard Candy was originally called Anchor Candy and quickly became most famous for the creation of a southern pop-culture staple - the Goo Goo Cluster, which remains a favorite of Nashvillian residents and tourists to this day. The King Leo brand was purchased from another company in the 1940's and came in three flavors - peppermint, clove and lemon. Surviving to the 1990's, the King Leo line was sold to a California-based company and the Standard Candy Company went through a series of changes including a name change - reintroducing itself as Standard Functional Food Group, which it is still known as today. This King Leo tin dates to the 1950's and bears the Standard Candy Company imprint on the bottom of the tin. {SPECIAL FEATURES} - Great mid-century design - Tight-fitting, secure lid - Authentic patina - Navy blue, bright red and cream color palette {CONDITION} Al the graphics are bright and clear with crisp lines. The top of the lid bears the most wear and tear with chippy paint and some rust spots. The interior is very clean and bright. Please see photos. The lid fits snug and secure for sturdy packaging but is also easily slides on and off. {SIZE} Measures 6" inches (diameter) x 4.5" inches (height). {STYLE IDEA} In addition to being a lovely storage container for any sort of kitchen product, we think this would make just about the cutest cat treat jar on the planet.
