Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph Panda 41mm 26331ST.OO.1220ST.03The Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph needs little introduction, it's quite simply one of the most iconic steel sports watches in the world. A successor to the wonderful 26300 ROC, this series of Royal Oak Chrono were first released in 2012 with an updated 41mm case. Then, to celebrate 20 years of the Chrono, AP then updated the line again to give us the wonderful two-tone Panda dial we have on this particular example.The grand-tapisserie dial in silver is spectacular in person, the bracelet simply one of the best on any watch at any price point, and the iconic Genta-designed case comes in at just 11mm thick. It’s perfectly proportioned case, dial and bracelet work in harmony to create the ultimate luxury sports watch.This particular example is a one-owner local piece, and presents in TZ Good condition. The dial is perfect, and the case remains unpolished. The watch was worn as intended by the owner, and the case and bezel show some scratching and scuffs as well as a few light dings around the outer edge of the bezel. The bracelet shows quite a few desk diving marks, particularly on the 12 o'clock side.These could all easily be taken care of with a polish from AP, but we’d usually wait to do that when the first service is due and wear it without fear of putting marks on pristine piece up until that point in time so will leave that up to the new owner. It is often the issue with Royal Oaks, they don't get worn for fear of putting marks on them, but we'd personally prefer a few signs of wear so we can enjoy it as intended rather than leaving it sitting in a safe.
