Information About Your Membership and Dues Membership is a calendar year. Processing of dues may take up to 2-3 business days. Please allow enough time to prevent any interruption in your member benefits. Members hold dual membership in the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) and the American Academy of Dermatology Association (AADA). Membership in the AAD automatically confers membership in the AADA and vice versa. Total dues are apportioned between the AAD and the AADA in accordance with the budgetary needs and priorities established by the Boards of Directors of the two organizations. Dues paid to the AADA are not deductible as a charitable contribution but may be deductible as business expense related to your practice, excluding the 18% of the dues attributed to lobbying activities. Questions about dues payment, please contact the MRC at MRC@aad.org or 847-240-1280.   Reinstatement: Former members must provide documentation proving they meet the current criteria for membership. $100.00 US dollars reinstatement fee, current year's membership dues, and any required documents must be provided before membership will be considered active. If no longer meeting the previous member category requirements, you may be placed in a different category or may be denied membership completely.   Discount: Those paying full dues, who are 65 yrs old, with 25 yrs of dues paying membership, and fully retired, may be eligible for a discount. Contact MRC@aad.org.   Life Membership: Any Fellow, International Fellow, Associate, International Associate, Affiliate, or Adjunct in good standing who has 30 yrs of dues paying membership and is retired (no longer practices for remuneration) may be eligible for Life membership.
